Jože Marinč was born on the 19th of March, 1954, in Dolnja Briga near Kočevska Reka/Slovenia. In Ljubljana, he graduated the school for design, the Academy for pedagofy and fina arts. He spent two years at a special art academy. He lives and works in Kostanjevica na Krki. In 1998, the monography of Jože Marinć was published.
The four elements – earth, air, water and fire – play an important role in his work of art. His art is based on nature giving impressions (motives in the forest, on the river, at the sea.....)
Awards
He received a number of awards at the art exhibition "Ex tempore" in the towns of Novo Mesto, Škofja Loka and Dobrna. In 1993, he got the Grand Prix at the 1st Biennale of the town of Kranj. In 1995, he received the award at the May Salon / The Gallery of the Union of Slovenian Fine Artists' Associations / in Ljubljana.
