Sergije Mihić, academic painter

Sergije MihićSergije Mihić was born in 1942 in the town of Rijeka. He graduated the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1966, thenceforth he is also member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists. He cooperates with many famous artists (Murtić, Kujundžić, etc.)

1971 – 1979 Beside his art work, he is engaged in pedagogical work, too

1979     Director of the art programm „TD  Gornji grad“ and the „Lotrsčak“ Gallery in Zagreb
1983     Art retrospectives for Radio Zagreb,
1984     Publication of the Art Map „Panopticum”,
1985     Participant in the exhibition „Salon of Nations“ in Paris,
1985     Award „Invitte d Onore“,
1995     Publication of the Art Map „Classic triptych „ together with the poet Vesna Parun
1998     Publication of the Art Map „Lungo mare“,
1999     Creation of the big mosaic at the Franciscan cemetery on the island of Košljun
2001    Exhibition – in compliment to the „Poreč fish“ (old mosaic with a portrayed fish, being considered as an early proof of Christianity  in the area of Poreč – dated time of Roman persecution of Christians), Basilica of St. Eufrasius  
2002    Exhibition „My Bulgaria”,
2002    Awars of the Bulgarian government for international cultural cooperation
2003    Retrospective – „Bus terminal“,
2003    Exhibition in compliment to St. Francis in Zadar,

           Participation in many humanitarian actions.
He was honoured several times for his work at home and abroad.
His artwork can be found in many galleries and private collections in Croatia and abroad.
Sergije Mihić lives and works in Zagreb and Karlobag.
